Lupit Pole | Information about the materials Lupit uses

What materials are Lupit Poles made of?

The poles are made of different materials. Lupit only uses the top quality materials well known in mechanical engineering. Except for the *usable surface of the pole, Lupit uses carbon steel as a construction material and then adds different coatings as a protection against corrosion and other influences; the different types of coating are; powder brushing, chromium plating, and zinc plating.

*The “usable surface” is the outer surface of the pole/tube which is used by the dancer to touch, climb and grab.

The anti-slippery rubber on the disc is custom made for Lupit only, it is a custom formula. "We wanted to have a durable and grippy rubber that can be cleaned and refreshed in terms of stickiness."

The usable surface is made of different materials:

  • Stainless steel
    • Mirror polished
  • Chrome finished Alloy Steel
    • Allergy-free
    • 100% chipping free (the finish doesn't flake/peel off)
    • Amazing grip
  • Powder brushed/coated surface
    • coated carbon steel tube
  • Brass
    • Mirror polished

No other coating is added; which is the most optimal surface for competitions and it is therefore IPSF-certified/approved.

To keep the surface shiny the pole has to be frequently cleaned and polished, but some like the natural oxide layer which provides even better grip.

What's the difference between the Classic G2 and Diamond G2 Poles?

The Lupit Pole Diamond G2 is basically a Lupit Pole Classic G2 decorated with original Swarovski Crystals. The crystals give your pole a special glamorous look and will fashionably decorate the room for sure. The Swarovski crystals sparkle and shine beautifully when dancing with the Lupit Diamond G2-Pole

Which material has the best grip?

It’s difficult to say which one is better than the other because it’s all down to personal taste, your dance style, your budget, and what type of climate you live in.

Some examples:

  • Chrome poles are good if you live in Northern Europe because of the temperature and climate.
    • It’s the most common pole you’ll find in gyms, studios, and clubs.
  • Brass poles: Those who learn on a brass pole more often find it difficult to revert to a chrome pole
(but reverting from a chrome to a brass pole is often not a problem!)
    • However, brass poles do also have an amazing grip; most pole athletes find it the most grippy
  • Silicone and Powder-Coated poles are more suitable for extreme moves, flips and tricks
(or for Chinese pole as opposed to the regular pole dancing tricks because this dance-style is often practiced with more clothes on)
    • They add a new dimension; especially as silicone poles are often used with clothes on
    • They're fun because they look different from the well-known metal poles and are often available in fun colours too!

Lupit's advice: "However, metal-coated poles are more suitable for everyday use, unless your dance style suits other coatings more or you have spare cash lying around ;) !"

Is grip better on the stainless-steel poles?

It depends from person to person, on your type of skin and on the climate you live in.

Stainless Steel is a very high-quality material for dance poles. Freestanding dance poles made from stainless steel are extremely durable and have a polished finish. It’s more common to find these in studios rather than at home, as studio poles take a lot more abuse than home poles do.

Stainless steel will hold up well in humid weather conditions and if you find excess sweating a problem, then stainless steel is perfect for you!

In the end, it is hard to say if stainless steel has a better grip. It’s all down to personal taste, your dance style, your budget and what type of climate you live in.

How do you clean poles?

Lupit recommends cleaning the poles using a cotton cloth with a cleaning agent and afterwards wiping them dry with a cotton- of microfibre- cloth.

Type of cleaning agent:

Stainless steel and Chrome poles can be cleaned with:

  • Nitro diluent 900
  • Pure Alcohol
  • Water

Powder-coated parts should only be cleaned with:

  • Pure Alcohol
  • Water

Make sure you do not use glass cleaners, especially if they contain the Ammonium Hydroxide Cleaning Agent.

Cleaning the rubber surface on the discs is also very important. Use pure alcohol for regular cleaning and nitro diluent 900 for refreshing the surface to be stickier.

Do I need to oil my Classic pole?

Yes, it is recommended to oil the lower bearing system and the upper bearing every 3 months. The best way to moisturise is by using Machine oil or Spray grease for bearings.

Where does Lupit source the materials?

We can proudly say that 95% of all materials and parts Lupit uses are of European origin, which is much more expensive than Asian ones, but Lupit wanted to make sure that the quality is good and that the materials are produced according to all ecological and ethical (EU-)standards.

I happen to be allergic to nickel and titanium. Are stainless poles completely nickel-free?

Chrome plating usually consists of nickel as the base and a very thin layer of chrome as the finish. In this case, allergies to nickel may occur.

Stainless steel also contains nickel, but it is combined with steel and other elements to form a new type of metal. This means that fewer nickel particles come into contact with your skin.

We can not guarantee that you will not have an allergic reaction to stainless steel, but Lupit has not received any reports of allergies on Lupit Poles so far.

General information

We import ordered items especially for you from our supplier in the USA; therefore the average delivery time is 1 to 1½ weeks (within the Netherlands) but this can be longer due to unforeseen reasons.

Please note:

  • For returning (not exchanging) items that we imported for you from the USA, we will deduct €25,- import/postage/duty costs from your refund amount per item*.
    • These are the costs incurred by purchasing the items you ordered
  • We convert €15,- from that €25,- into shop credit. You will receive your shop credit by email and it can be redeemed on our website with your next order
    • your credit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue
    • your credit cannot be exchanged for (cash) money
    • If your return does not meet our return & refund conditions and we therefore apply a deducted refund in addition to the import/postage/duty costs, your right to this shop credit will lapse.

* When returning multiple items that we have imported, we always look at the costs incurred per individual situation; the amount we deduct and the amount we convert into shop credit depends on the actual costs we have incurred.

This applies to:
1) cancellation of the order before it is delivered to you, but has already been purchased by us
2) returning (part of) the order you have already received.

This amount only covers the costs incurred for imported the items you ordered; we do not charge any cancellation fees or restocking fees ourselves.

Of course we prefer not to do this, but in order to cover the unnecessary costs incurred by us and to discourage the many returns, this has unfortunately proved necessary. (think of the environment and please make sure you order the right items)

We won't charge you these costs for a single exchange in case of a wrong size. You can read more about our return policy in our Terms and Conditions and Refund Policy.

Sizing and Dimensions

See how you can calculate your size using a conversion table on our information page: "How do I know which size I have and which one I should order?"

To view a conversion table and see which sizes & dimensions we use, you can use the size chart, which you can find in the following two ways:

On every page (both on your mobile and on a computer) you can find a button for a size chart on the right side, which looks like this:Maattabel knop pagina

On all product pages you can find the button for the table above the "Add to cart" button, which looks like this:

Our shoes and boots come from the USA and have American sizes (1 inch = 2.54 cm).
These dimensions have been converted to the Western European size that we use in the Netherlands, Belgium and other EU countries. Our converted EU dimensions differ from those of our American supplier stated on the box. Experience shows that shoe sizes US-12 and up in particular are larger.

Order the size you normally wear, we already take into account how a model fits (large, small or according to size). Sometimes we explicitly inform you about this in the description.

If you are between sizes, we usually recommend rounding up the size for a closed model, such as a pump or boot. With an open model, such as a sandal or peep toes (where the toes and heel are 'open') we recommend to choose the smaller size.

If you want to order a specific US size, please select the desired US size indicated in the sizes. We always order the corresponding US size stated; the corresponding EU size determined by us may therefore differ from the EU size stated on the box.

Of course you can always ask us for advice about which size you need: info@kinky-shoes.nl

If you would like to know the shaft circumference, shaft height and calf circumference of boots, you can calculate these for your size (for an explanation of how to do this; view our information page about calculating the circumference). Use the following data sheet for this:
